IPL Points Table 2023: Updated After RR vs LSG Match 26

In a thrilling encounter at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the Lucknow Super Giants managed to defend a total of 154 against the Rajasthan Royals, spoiling their homecoming after almost four years. The pitch was slow and offered assistance to the bowlers, making run-scoring difficult.

After restricting Super Giants to 154 for 7, the Royals got off to a good start, reaching 89 for 1 after 12 overs, needing just 66 runs from the remaining eight overs. However, Super Giants’ Marcus Stoinis and Avesh Khan used the conditions to their advantage and made run-scoring difficult for the Royals’ batters.

As the asking rate mounted, the pressure on the Royals increased. With 48 runs required from four overs, Ravi Bishnoi bowled an excellent 17th over, conceding just six runs. In the next over, Devdutt Padikkal hit three fours off Stoinis to keep Super Giants in the contest. However, Naveen-ul-Haq bowled an outstanding 19th over, giving away just ten runs and leaving 18 runs to defend for Avesh in the final over.

Riyan Parag started the final over with a boundary, but Avesh struck back by dismissing Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel on successive deliveries to distort any hopes Rajasthan Royals had of winning. However, the points table has not been affected after today’s encounter. Rajasthan Royals have managed to save their first position while Lucknow Super Giants are just behind them, at the second spot.
