IPL Points Table 2023: Updated After KKR vs SRH Match 19

In a thrilling encounter at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 23 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The Sunrisers posted a massive total of 228 for 4, thanks to an unbeaten 100 off 55 balls by Harry Brook and a quickfire 50 off 26 balls by Aiden Markram. 

In response, Kolkata Knight Riders were in trouble early on, losing five wickets for just 96 runs in the 11th over. However, Nitish Rana’s brilliant knock of 75 off 41 balls kept their hopes alive. With 58 runs required from the last three overs, Rinku Singh and Shardul Thakur, who had been miracle-makers in the previous two games, were at the crease.

Rinku fought hard with an unbeaten 58 off 31 balls, but Sunrisers Hyderabad held their nerve and clinched a crucial victory. With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad have climbed two spots from 9th to 7th in the IPL 2023 points table, while Kolkata Knight Riders are still where they started, at the 4th spot. 

Harry Brook was awarded the player of the match for his scintillating century, which included some brilliant hitting against pace and calculated strike rotation against spin. Sunrisers Hyderabad will be hoping to carry this momentum into their next game, while Kolkata Knight Riders will need to regroup and bounce back quickly to stay in the hunt for the playoffs.
