IPL Points Table 2023: Updated After DC vs SRH Match 40

In the first match of the day between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans, Rahmanullah Gurbaz was given the responsibility of replacing the injured Jason Roy. He played brilliantly, scoring 81 runs off just 39 balls against his former franchise. However, his heroic effort was not enough to secure a victory for Kolkata Knight Riders, as they managed to score only 179 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, chased down the target with ease, with 13 balls to spare, despite facing some trouble in the middle overs.

Gurbaz was the standout performer for Kolkata Knight Riders, especially in his takedown of Rashid Khan, who went for more than 50 runs for only the second time in the IPL. However, he didn’t receive much support from his teammates, except for Andre Russell, who scored a quickfire 34 off 19 balls towards the end of the innings. Josh Little from Gujarat Titans bowled well in the middle overs, picking up some important wickets and slowing down the run rate. Noor Ahmad also made his presence felt, taking 2 wickets for just 21 runs in his four overs, including the wicket of Gurbaz.

In the second innings, former Kolkata Knight Rider Shubman Gill set up the chase for Gujarat Titans. Despite losing two quick wickets in the middle overs, Vijay Shankar and David Miller finished the game off in style. GT have now moved to the top of the points table, whereas KKR are still on the 7th.

SRH back to winning ways

In an intense and thrilling game, both Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals put up a good fight, trading blows back and forth on a slow pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to break their three-match losing streak by edging out Delhi Capitals in the end.

Delhi Capitals started strong and appeared to be well on their way to chasing down the target of 198 runs. Having lost David Warner on the first ball of the inning, Mitchell Marsh and Phil Salt formed an impressive partnership for the second wicket, scoring 112 runs in just 11 overs. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad soon managed to get back in the game by taking quick wickets, thanks to Mayank Markande’s clever bowling. He picked up two wickets for just 20 runs, which helped to turn the game in Sunrisers’ favor.

As a result of this victory, Sunrisers Hyderabad now have three wins out of eight games, while Delhi Capitals have only managed to win two out of their eight matches. This leaves Delhi Capitals at the bottom of the points table, while Sunrisers Hyderabad have climbed up one spot and are 8th on the Points Table.
