The 13th season of the Indian Premier League has finally reached the next level. The group league matches of the tournament for this edition are done and dusted. Sunrisers Hyderabad had to win the last match against the defending champions Mumbai Indians to secure their berth in the playoffs. Kolkata Knight Riders were ahead of the Hyderabad side even before the match with 14 points but they were far behind of SRH considering the Net Run Rate. So, for SRH a win would have been sufficient to move to the next level. They won their final encounter of the group stage against Mumbai Indians by 10 wickets, and based on their NRR moved to the 3rd place of the IPL 2020 points table.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are now at 4th position while Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are at 1st and 2nd positions now. Kolkata Knight Riders are at 5th and hence out of the tournament. The 6th, 7th, and 8th positions are occupied by Kings XI Punjab, Chennai Super Kings, and Rajasthan Royals respectively.
