IPL Points Table 2020: Updated After SRH vs DC Match 47

The IPL 2020 stands at an interesting stage now. Three of the teams are having 14 points each and just need two more points to secure their playoff seats. Delhi Capitals, as one such team wanted to win the match today against a comparatively weaker team on the Points Table, Sunrisers Hyderabad. But the Hyderabad side won the match by 88 runs. This means there is no extra point for the Capitals but decreases in their Net Run Rate. Delhi Capitals who were at 2nd position earlier, are now at 3rd with Royal Challengers Bangalore moving up at 2nd spot only because of a better run rate. Interestingly, the Bangalore team had no contribution in this move particularly.

Mumbai Indians continue to lead the table whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad are now at 6th slot with 10 points followed by Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings at 7th and 8th. CSK are the only team to have been officially out of the Indian Premier League. The 4th and 5th teams, Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders have the same points- 12 each. Tomorrow’s match will clearly decide the first qualifier as the match is scheduled to be played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. One win for either of the sides on Wednesday will ensure 16 points for the winner and entry to the next stage.
