IPL Points Table 2020: Updated After MI vs CSK Match 1

Mumbai Indians, the four-time IPL winners failed to claim a win in the first match of IPL 2020. Abu Dhabi hosted the first IPL match of the season between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led CSK decided to bowl first which later proved to be the right call. Saurabh Tiwary (42) and Quinton de Kock (33) helped Mumbai Indians set a target of 163 for their arch-rivals. Lungi Ngidi (3/38) was instrumental along with Deepak Chahar (2/32) and Ravindra Jadeja (2/42).

During the chase, CSK lost two openers quickly but their solid middle order took the responsibility. Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plessis kept the show on and both scored individual half-centuries. Rayudu was gone after scoring a 48-ball 71 whereas du Plessis remained till the end with 58*. Curran came at the end and hit two maximums to make things easier for the side. He went on to claim the MoM award as well.

Chennai Super Kings after winning the first match is leading the IPL 2020 points table with two points. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, are obviously standing at the bottom of the points table due to their NRR.
