IPL on this Youngster’s Bucket List

Mohammad Azharuddeen is into the headlines again. Thanks to Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020. The youngster from Kerala side became a household name instantly and now his wishlist has been doing the rounds.

The blazing Azhar

Kerala opener Mohammed Azharuddeen remained unbeaten with 54-ball 137 in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai to become the talking point of the Internet. He hit 10 sixes and nine boundaries to complete this blistering inning and helped Kerala claim a second straight win of the tournament. While the efforts have been applauded by cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Vinod Kambli fans started bringing for Indian cricket captain Azharuddeen’s name. Former Indian cricket is still cherished by many for his classic style of batting. An upcoming cricketer with similar name undoubtedly will fascinate all.

Sehwag wrote, “Wah Azharuddeen, behtareen! To score like that against Mumbai was some effort. 137* of 54 and finishing the job on hand. Enjoyed this innings. #SyedMushtaqAliT20”

The wishlist

Chasing a stiff target of 197 looked easy for Kerala because of the masterclass from Azharuddeen. In the process, he went on to record the second-fastest century in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy history, with Rishabh Pant’s 32-ball ton in 2018 being the fastest. Earlier, Mumbai had made 196/7 with Aditya Tare top-scoring with 42 off 31 while Yashasvi Jaiswal (40 off 32), Suryakumar Yadav (38 off 19) and Shivam Dube (26 off 13) also did their bit.

Manorama News visited his home in Kasargod after the knock and shared some anecdotes for the fans. That included a bucket list of the Kerala-based cricketer. The list mentions IPL, 4 Hundred in a Ranji season, Own House, (Mercedes) Benz, and 2023 World Cup. The screenshot of the video shared by Manorama News became viral in no time after a Twitter user posted it.
