Kolkata Knight Riders is currently on the top of the points table with 19 points to their name. Rajasthan Royals on the other hand, has just been surpassed by Sun Risers Hyderabad who secured the second spot with 17 points after today’s win. 

Rajasthan Royals holds the third spot on the table with 16 points. Despite having a very smooth start in the season, the team has lost their last 4 fixtures and won only 1 match out of their last five.

The toss in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 face off between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders has been delayed due to rain at the Barsapara Stadium here on Sunday.

Sudden rain forced the surprised ground staff to bring the covers onto the playing square, just five minutes before the scheduled toss time.

Ahead of the game, which is the last league match for the season, there had been warnings issued by the weather forecast department about thunderstorm, rain and gusty winds in Guwahati. 

Top two finish on the table for RR?

If the rain stops today, and RR manages to somehow get a victory over KKR, they will ensure a top-two finish in the tournament. Especially, after SRH has now been promoted to the second spot after victory against PBKS.

The top two teams will face off against one another in the Qualifier 1, and the team that comes out victorious in that clash scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad on Tuesday will directly enter the final on Sunday in Chennai. 

The teams that are placed third and fourth will play the eliminator at Ahmedabad on Wednesday, and the winner from that clash will face the losing team of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 at Chennai on Friday.

Currently, Royal Challengers Bangalore holds the fourth spot on the points table, after a great comeback, despite having. A rough start in the tournament.
