The Sunrisers Hyderabad completely restructured their side this IPL. They are looking as the favorites to lift the trophy this year. The team is packed with some exciting talented batters as well as skillful and threatening fast bowlers. On paper, there isn’t any weakness seen in the playing 11, but they need to back it up with consistent performance.
The SRH team is led by South African batter Aiden Markram. The 28-year-old led the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, the sister franchise of Sunrisers Hyderabad, to the T20 title in the SA20 League. He took some inspiring decisions on the field with his astute leadership. He needs to use his captaincy skills to power the Hyderabad franchise to the title.
Aiden Markram is the X-factor of the Hyderabad side. Markram is arguably one of the most eye-pleasing batters in the modern era. He is a vital cog in the middle order of the SRH lineup. The South African batter is excellent against spin and isn’t afraid to use his feet or crease. He has improved his power hitting against pace and significantly improved his finishing skills. He knows how to pace the innings and build a good total for the team. Other explosive batters like Rahul Tripathi, Mayank Agarwal, and Harry Brook can play fearless cricket with the assurance of Aiden Markram in the middle. Markram can shift gears in no time and can take the opposition by surprise with his counterattack.
He is extremely underrated with the bowl. In the SA20 League, he took 11 wickets in the tournament. The all-rounder not only chipped in with crucial overs in the powerplay but also scalped wickets. On slow, low Hyderabad pitches, he would be more than a handful with a ball in hand. He has a golden arm and thinks like a batter when he bowls.
Markram needs to keep up with the good work and inspire the SRH team to the title. He is more than capable to have 500+ runs in a tournament. Aiden Markram, who has underachieved so far in his career, has now the opportunity to make amends and make people take notice of him. He does not have a better opportunity than this to convert his talent into jaw-dropping performances.
