IPL 2023: Watch Dhoni rolls back the clock with his lightning quick stumping

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been the best wicketkeeper in the modern era. He has been terrific behind the stumps and has got lightning-quick hands. Over the years, he has been involved in quick stumpings and brilliant catches.

In today’s match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, he rolled back the clock with his fast glovework behind the stumps. Dhoni was involved in a quick stumping off Ravindra Jadeja to scalp the wicket of Mayank Agarwal. The 41-year-old keeper took the bails in off with Mayank Agarwal well short of the crease.

Match 29 of the IPL 2023 will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, with Sunrisers Hyderabad setting a target of 135 runs against the Chennai Super Kings. With Harry Brook smashing 34 runs off 26 balls, including three fours and a six, SRH reached 134/7 in 20 overs. In the meantime, CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja was in excellent bowling form, taking three wickets, while Akash Singh, Maheesh Theekshana, and Matheesha Pathirana each claimed one.

CSK had a little bit of frustration near the end because they would have liked to conclude it sooner. However, Mayank Markande continued his strong ball performance with a wonderful period of bowling. But the outcome was hardly ever in question. Although Markande postponed what had to happen, CSK was prepared thanks to another outstanding start from Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Devon Conway remained unbeaten in the chase to help CSK register a thumping victory over SRH.

Markram spoke at the post-match presentation

Aiden Markram: Never nice to lose, disappointed. Let ourselves dow with the bat. Lacked partnerships of substance. It wasn’t a 130-odd wicket, more closer to 160. Tough to get momentum if you don’t have partnerships. They bowled well in the middle overs, didn’t give us much to score of. We knew their spinners will play a big role, it was more about each person having his own plan to counter that. The guys had their plans but we couldn’t get it right tonight ultimately. We need some wins now, have to see how we can get better with the bat. Proud how the bowlers stuck it out and took the game deep. Gonna take 1-2 guys to put their hands up, hopefully we can get it right the next game.
