IPL 2023: Here’s the reason why Mark Wood not playing today’s IPL Match against Royal Challengers Bangalore

As the excitement for the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore builds up, fans were left disappointed to learn that Mark Wood will not be playing for the Lucknow Super Giants today. The news came as a surprise, especially after the fast bowler has shown signs of good form and had recovered from his flu.

The two captains, Faf du Plessis (RCB) and KL Rahul (LSG) walked out to the middle for the toss. RCB’s skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss at the Ekana  Sports City Stadium in Lucknow and decided to batl first. However, when the team sheets arrived, fans were disappointed to see Mark Wood’s name was not on LSG’s list.

Why is Mark Wood not playing today?

The absence of Mark Wood from the playing XI has left fans questioning the team management’s decision. The fact that captain KL Rahul did not provide any reason for the change has only added to the confusion. However, it can only be assumed that the team has not included Mark Wood in the Playing XI because they don’t want to disrupt the winning combination that thrashed the Punjab Kings in the last game.

Twitter has been buzzing with comments from disappointed fans, who were eagerly looking forward to seeing Mark Wood in action once again. Many have taken to social media to express their disappointment and demand an explanation from the team management.

LSG played Naveen ul Haq, the fast bowler from Afghanistan in the last game while Mark Wood was away. Naveen impressed everyone with his bowling skills as he picked up 3 wickets for just 30 runs in a game that saw more than 450 runs being scored. Since LSG ended up winning up the game, thanks to Naveen ul Haq’s heroics, they have decided to try him once again in tonight’s encounter.
