IPL 2022: Points table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap update

The 15th edition of Indian Premier League has already begun and each team has played at least one match so far. IPL is a 10-team event this year with the addition of two new teams, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants.

Points Table

Interestingly, both these teams have played their debut IPL match against each and Hardik pandya’s Gujarat Titans defeated KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants. On the other hand, the season opener saw Kolkata Knight Riders beating the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. Mumbai Indians followed their tradition and lost their season opener to Delhi Capitals. Royal Challengers Bangalore also lost their first match to Punjab Kings. Today’s match saw Rajasthan Royals beating Sunrisers Hyderabad and moving to the top of the table, thanks to their Net Run Rate followed by a big margin win.

The second to fourth positions are occupied by Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders. The star-studded CSK, RCB, and MI are ranked at seventh, eighth, and ninth position after starting the season on a poor note.

Orange Cap

Mumbai Indians trusted Ishan Kishan and the batter came up with a strong response in the first match of the season with 81 not out. He is followed by Aiden Markram from Sunrisers Hyderabad, Sanju Samson from Rajasthan Royals, and Deepak Hooda in third, fourth, and fifth place. After hitting the first half-century of the season, MS Dhoni is standing at sixth while the youngster Ayush Badoni from the Giants is at fifth after his stunning show against the Titans last night.

Purple Cap
