IPL 2022: Pat Cummins Joins KKR Camp

Pat Cummins reportedly has joined his Indian Premier League squad, Kolkata Knight Riders. However, he will be available for selection only after three days of mandatory quarantine period. On a video posted by Kolkata Knight Riders on Twitter, Cummins was said, “It’s great to be back!”

The Australian pace-bowling all-rounder has been one of the mainstays of Kolkata Knight Riders over a few years. like several Australia senior players he also made himself unavailable for the limited-overs series of Pakistan tour that the hosts managed to level 1-1. Ahead of that, as the Test captain Cummins led his side to a historic Test series win in Pakistan. Cummins was the most expensive player at the IPL 2020 Auction. The Kolkata Knight Riders signed him for a massive ₹15.50 crore and KKR retained him for the same amount in 2021. But they did not retain him for the IPL 2022. However, they bought him back back for ₹7.25 crore.

“It’s great to be back! It is going to be interesting, keen to be around Baz and the rest of the team and chat about the last year or two. I still feel very much the same. I think this is my fifth year with KKR, so can’t wait to see everyone,” he said in a video posted by KKR on Twitter. He will be available to play for KKR after April 6.

Today Kolkata Knight Riders are taking on Punjab Kings in the IPL match and KKR have decided to bowl first after winning the toss.
