Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been “reprimanded” for breaching Indian Premier League’s Code of Conduct during their second match of IPL 2021 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. With a media released, this has been informed to all. During the match on Wednesday, Kohli was dismissed for 33 off 29 balls by Jason Holder. While he was walking off the field, the RCB captain hit an advertising cushion on the boundary. Then he was seen whacking a chair in the team’s dugout with his bat. Kohli himself admitted to have breached the Level 1 offence 2.2 which relates to “Abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a Match”.

“Mr Kohli admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” the IPL said in the statement.

RCB’s second win

However, fortunately Royal Challengers Bangalore could manage to win the match in Chennai after another nail-biting encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chasing 150 it was almost a match in favour of the Hyderabad side. An 83-run partnership between skipper David Warner and Manish Pandey was taking them closer to the victory. But Shahbaz Ahmed rose to the occasion and took three wickets in an over including the scalps of Jonny Bairstow, Manish Pandey, and Abdul Samad.
From being 96/1 at one stage, SRH were suddenly at 123/6 and things did not change much for them further. Royal Challengers Hyderabad on the other hand sealed another victory in the Indian Premier League 2021 by just six runs.
