Delhi Capitals will take on Chennai Super Kings at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Saturday for the second game of IPL 2021. After a thrilling start to the tournament on Friday, the first weekend clash of this season will see India’s former wicket keeper MS Dhoni and current one from the side, Rishabh Pant facing each other. Pant was initially thought to be MS Dhoni’s replacement by the selectors. After few days of lean phase, Pant is back to claim the place again. Ravi Shastri who is the head coach of Indian cricket team took to Twitter to share his excitement on the same.

“Guru vs Chela. Bahot Maza aayega aaj (it’ll be great fun tonight). Stump Mic suniyega zaroor (do listen to the stump mic) #DhoniReturns #Pant #IPL2021 #DCvsCSK – @ChennaiIPL @DelhiCapitals”. Here he referred to Dhoni as Guru, the mentor and Pant as chela, the disciple.

On the other hand, even Pant sounded excited to be doing the toss first time as an IPL captain alongside Dhoni. Pant who will be leading Delhi Capitals in absence of Shreyas Iyer for the first time, said, “My first match as captain will be against Mahi (MS Dhoni) bhai. It will be a good experience for me as I have learned a lot from him.”

“I have my own experience as a player as well… I’ll apply my own experience and the learnings from MS Dhoni, and try to do something different against CSK,” Pant was quoted as saying in a Delhi Capitals’ press release.
