The second game of the double-header would witness Punjab Kings taking on Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday, 2nd May. This will be the fifth game of the season in Ahmedabad.
Punjab Kings had suffered four losses in the first six matches. They made three changes for their last game against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Riley Meredith, Prabhsimran Singh and Harpreet Brar were slotted in. Moises Henriques, Arshdeep Singh and Mayank Agarwal missed out.
Agarwal had received a blow on his elbow and didn’t feel comfortable for the last game. But if he is fine, he would come in straightaway for Prabhsimran. Riley Meredith was decent in the previous match. Harpreet Brar has well and truly established himself in the team for his superb all-round performance against RCB.
Recently, the franchise released a statement that KL Rahul has been diagnosed with severe appendicitis. It would require a surgery and he has heen transferred to a hospital. Chris Gayle is expected to lead in his absence. Gayle was taken over the charge when Rahul was off the field in the last game. In Rahul’s place, Mandeep Singh might come in.
Delhi Capitals went in against Kolkata Knight Riders with one change in the playing XI. Amit Mishra had suffered a shoulder injury which kept him out. Lalit Yadav took his place and performed decently. It would be the captain’s call whether to bring back Mishra if he is fit or to carry on with Lalit. Apart from that, there might not be any other alteration.
