Why Wriddhiman Saha is not Playing Today
David Warner, after losing the toss to Mumbai Indians revealed the team and informed about four changes for the crucial match in the side. He did not mention the players but said, “Not sure whether we would have batted first (because it’s a tough pitch to read). All four wickets here look exactly the same so I’m not really sure. We know what we’ve gotta do. We’ve made four changes. You’ll see soon on the team sheet.”
They have decided to exclude Wriddhiman Saha, Jason Holder, T Natarajan, and Shahbaz Nadeem. Khaleel Ahmed, Abhishek Sharma, Virat Singh, and Mujeeb ur Rahman are the inclusions.
Wriddhiman Saha’s position as opener was questioned just after the first match of the season as he failed to make any impact. A lot wanted Jonny Bairstow to open along with Saha with the latter batting in the middle in that case. But the management showed their faith in Saha as opener in the second fixture as well. However, Saha could not live up to the expectations. It was hence quite expected for the management to go without him in such an important fixture.
