IPL 2021: Here’s The Reason Why Chris Lynn is not Playing Today Against Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders are up against Mumbai Indians with an unchanged side. But Mumbai Indians decided to exclude Chris Lynn.

Why is Lynn missing?

Quinton de Kock is an important part of Mumbai Indians. Chris Lynn replaced him and turned out to be the highest run-scorer for Mumbai Indians in their tournament opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Amid the flow shows from most of the Mumbai batsmen, Lynn ended with 49 off 35 balls. However, this was not for him to keep his place since the competition was with Quinton de Kock. He was Mumbai’s second highest scorer in their victorious campaign last year. His availability means he is an absolute entry for the side. He is also going to keep wickets for the side.

Rohit Sharma speaking on the same said it was unfortunate for Lynn but de Kock is back to the side. The Mumbai Indians side for today’s match include Rohit Sharma(c), Quinton de Kock(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Marco Jansen, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, and Jasprit Bumrah.

KKR win toss

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders have an unchanged team for this match after winning their first game. Eoin Morgan, winning the toss, decided to field first. Morgan said, “We are going to bowl first. Looks similar to the last one, not sure if the dew will come in. We are delighted, we are trying to play aggressive brand of cricket. It’s a challenge to continue in that manner. No changes in the side. Shakib was handed a special cap to mark his 50th game for KKR.”

Rohit Sharma also wanted to field first as well. He explained, “There was some dew in the first game against RCB, but the ball was turning. Last game we were 20 runs short, so we need to bat well. Of course you want to win every game, but we didn’t play to our potential in the first game. We need to understand where we went wrong and learn from it. We got only 30 runs in the last 4 overs, that was our mistake. We also discussed the shots to be playing on slow pitches. Let’s hope we rectify that today.”
