IPL 2020: Things to Watch Out for RR vs KXIP Match

Match 9 of IPL 2020 is going to be played at Sharjah between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals. While one has the intention to claim their maiden title, another wants to get back the lost glory in the tournament.

Rahul vs Archer

The battle between KL Rahul and Jofra Archer will be a highlight of the upcoming Indian Premier League match. KL Rahul led Kings XI Punjab with an unbeaten 132 with the bat in the last match. Last two seasons he was one of the successful IPL players with six half-centuries and one century. As the mainstay of KXIP, he will have the onus on continuing the good show. On the other hand, Jofra Archer is the key bowler of the Rajasthan Royals. He was effective with 1/26 last time out. Archer will have to contain KL Rahul if his side wants to do well.

Smith vs Shami

Steve Smith vs Mohammad Shami is yet another contest that will be in focus in the 9th match of the 13th Indian Premier League. Smith did his job well is the first Rajasthan Royals IPL match. He smashed a 47-ball 69 with four fours and as many as maximums. The Royals captain as a top-order bat will like to repeat the same in their second encounter. But he will be facing Mohammad Shami tomorrow who is already the third-best bowler in the Purple Cap content with four wickets at an economy 4.36. Shami has been a key weapon of KL Rahul in this campaign so far to provide important breakthroughs.

Battle of spinners

Considering the conditions, both teams will have expectations from their respective leg-spinners. Nobody expected Rahul Tewatia to bowl a match-winning spell yet the youngster took three wickets for 37 runs at an economy rate of 9.25. Two of those wickets came in consecutive balls when he scalped Sam Curran and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ravi Bishnoi and Murugan Ashwin as well picked up three wickets each for Kings XI Punjab and helped the side seal their maiden win. Both were economical and effective to reduce the RCB score to only 109. How these three outdone each other will be interesting to watch.
