The second IPL match will see Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab will face each other on Sunday. The match will be staged in Dubai.
Dhawan to record milestones
Shikhar Dhawan is on the verge of achieving another feat. He is just a half-century away from scoring the second-most number of fifties in the history of Indian Premier League. If Dhawan manages to score one, he will be the second only Indian after Suresh Raina to have scored 38 or more fifties in IPL. In the overall count, Dhawan stands at the third place as David Warner and Suresh Raina occupy the first two slots with 44 and 38 50s respectively. Dhawan will also need to hit only four more maximums to reach the milestone of 100 sixes in IPL.
Ashwin- the lone warrior
Ravichandran Ashwin was involved in one of the most controversial incidents in the history of IPL. As the KXIP skipper, he mankaded Jos Buttler in the last edition of the league which raised many eyebrows. While his team spirit was questioned a lot, he kept on defending himself citing the rules and regulations. Ahead of IPL 2020 auction, Ashwin due to his not so great performance was traded to Delhi Capitals. This means Ashwin will be seen playing against his former team in the second game of IPL 2020. He is also the leading spinner of the Capitals. As an experienced member how he handles everything will be nice to see.
KL Rahul as mainstay and KXIP skipper
All eyes will be on KL Rahul. He will be captaining for the first time in Indian Premier League. A team that has not won an IPL title yet, will be depending highly on their newly appointed skipper and the best batsman. KL Rahul has been consistently performed well with the bat in the league over last few season. Now it is time for him to showcase his captaincy skill. Rahul is also just 23 runs away from recording 2000 IPL runs to his name. He will be the 20th Indian to accumulate 2000 runs or more in the league.
Universe Boss to rock?
Chris Gayle did not feature in Caribbean Premier League 2020. The fact that he would hitting the ground with fresh mind could b a forte for KXIP. The Universe Boss may not be at his best, a few maximums from him will be enough to set the tone. With 4484 runs with a strike rate of 151, Gayle is still one of the best entertainers of IPL. He has also hit the most number of the sixes in the history fo IPL.
