IPL 2020: Things to Watch Out For CSK vs DC Match

Chennai Super Kings will clash against Delhi Capitals in their third encounter of the Indian Premier League 2020, with one victory and one loss in the previous encounters. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals who defeated Kings XI Punjab in the super over will now try to put extra effort into their second encounter of the Indian Premier League 2020.

Dhoni’s show

Mahendra Singh Dhoni started to show his best side in the last over of CSK innings in their second match of the season. He took time to open up and went on to hit three consecutive sixes but by then the match was gone from CSK’s hand. In CSK’s third match, Dhoni will be expected to begin from where he ended last time. A big knock from him will set the tone of Chennai Super Kings yet again and they can expect a memorable campaign with the skipper leading the way.

CSK might call Tahir

How the CSK team management proceeds further considering their bowling unit will be an interesting observation. Lungi Ngidi had a disastrous match against Rajasthan Royals as he ended up as CSK’s costliest bowler. He conceded 56 in runs in four to claim only one wicket from the match. The last over of RR innings saw him bowling two no-balls and one wide as Jofra Archer and Tom Curran added 30 runs to take RR score beyond 200. It is probably the best time to bring in the most experienced CSK bowler. Imran Tahir claimed 15 wickets from 11 CPL matches recently. His inclusion can be a masterstroke.

DC top order

Delhi Capitals had a mini-collapse at the top in their first outing of IPL 2020. Against Kings XI Punjab, three top-order Capitals batsmen failed to deliver and were dismissed with the fourth over of DC innings. Thanks to Shreyas Iyer (39), Rishabh Pant (31), and Marcus Stoinis (53) Delhi Capitals managed to fight back and eventually set a decent target. The IPL 2020 has been a high scoring league so far and to cope up with that one big knock from top order is mandatory. Moreover, trying to avoid the burden on the middle-order should be in focus too.

Rabada vs du Plessis

Kagiso Rabada will be the key weapon for Shreyas Iyer after his stellar show in the first fixture. Rabada at first picked up two major wickets of KXIP for just 28 runs and then went on to deliver brilliantly in the super over to ensure his team’s win. He allowed only two runs in the deciding over and scalped two KXIP wickets. DC could easily chase those three runs and sealed their first IPL 2020 win. Now Rabada will have the onus of stopping an in-form Faf du Plessis. Du Plessis will be hitting the ground aiming for his third consecutive half-century of the season. The battle between two South African is going to be interesting.
