Here is why Sheldon Cottrell not playing today against KKR

Sheldon Cottrell will be missing the ongoing match against Kolkata Knight Riders on October 10 following a niggle. KL Rahul, the KXIP captain informed the same after the toss. Rahul said, “We have a lot of experience like Anil, Andy and Jonty. We have Gayle and Maxi and seniors who have kept it positive. We just haven’t turned it around in the big moments that’s why we are at the bottom of the table. Jordan comes in for Cottrell, who has a niggle and might miss out on a couple of games.”

Sheldon Cottrell has done quite well in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League so far with six wickets in six matches at an average of 29.33. Moreover, he is the thirds best bowler of Kings XI Punjab in the season thus far followed by Mohammed Shami and Ravi Bischnoi. No wonder, Kings XI Punjab who are looking for a change in luck will miss the Caribbean.

Kumble on KXIP form

Five losses in six matches- the Punjab based IPL team does not look good in shape. However, the captain believes in his team and so does the mentor. Anil Kumble while asked about the same before the match, said, “It’s been challenging; there’s not much difference between a mentor and a coach. We have played some good cricket and some poor cricket, but we’re keen to turn it around.”

He further added that the team needs to showcase collective teamwork. “The morale has been very good, we keep reminding them that the results will come, just need to be ready and positive. It’s been a collective effort, we have had a few good individual performances, but we will need to fire collectively. A win will help us to get things back in place.”
