Here is why Rohit Sharma not playing today against CSK

When Mumbai Indians came to toss for today’s match against Chennai Super Kings, surprisingly there was no Rohit Sharma. In this very important game of the league, Mumbai Indians are going to miss the service of Rohit Sharma who has done pretty well even as a batter so far. Instead of Sharma, Pollard will take charge of the side today. But what’s wrong with Rohit Sharma? Reportedly he is not well. An official statement from Mumbai Indians revealed, “Rohit Sharma has suffered left leg hamstring strain during Mumbai Indians’ last outing. Rohit has made good progress over last four days, while the management is taking one day at a time monitoring the recovery process in consultancy with BCCI.”

After the Kings XI Punjab match against Mumbai Indians, Kieron Pollard had attended the press conference. He had informed, “I was told that he’s (Rohit) not feeling well, that’s why I’m here to chat with you guys. We’ll see what happens but he’s a fighter.” Reportedly Sharma had not been feeling well that day after two back-to-back Super Over which was why Pollard had come to join the media interaction.

Tiwary replaces Sharma

Mumbai Indians meanwhile won the toss against Chennai Super Kings and decided to bowl first. Pollard, the MI captain for today’s match said, “We are gonna bowl first. Don’t expect the wicket to change much and hopefully there’s some dew. We want to qualify to the playoffs first and we still have to come out and play good cricket.” Saurabh Tiwary is the substitute for Rohit Sharma in the squad.

Mumbai Indians (Playing XI): Quinton de Kock (wk), Saurabh Tiwary, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard (C), Krunal Pandya, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah
