Rajasthan Royals are ready to begin their IPL 2020 campaign. They will be facing Chennai Super Kings in their first fixture of the edition. The opposition will be hitting the ground after a win against the defending champions Mumbai Indians. While the match will not be easy for the Royals, the absence of Jos Buttler is not good news for them.
Here is why Jos Buttler not playing today against CSK
England and Australia players traveled from one bubble to another after and the BCCI decided to reduce the quarantine period for them to 36 hours. Jos Buttler however missed the series due to o family commitments which means he will have to observe the six-day mandatory quarantine. He traveled separately with his family to Dubai and would be in quarantine when his IPL team would be facing a tough team in their opening match on September 22.
This was confirmed by the man himself on the Rajasthan Royals Instagram account in a Live session.
“I’m unfortunately going to miss the first match for Rajasthan because I’m going to be doing my quarantine period because I’m here with my family – which is great that the Royals have allowed me to have my family out here. It’ll be a huge help in lockdown having my family here with me.”
Jos Buttler also mentioned in the session that he was excited to meet the young upcoming superstar of their set-up. While Buttler will miss the fixture, there will be a healthy contest between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Robin Uthappa. With Buttler in the line-up, there is slim chance of both making it to the playing XI. The two of them will basically showcase their mettle and try to deliver so that they can be considered to become Buttler’s opening partner in the upcoming games.
Rajasthan Royals Playing XI:
