IPL 2020: Here is What MS Dhoni Has to Say on CSK’s Third Consecutive Loss

Even after immense efforts from Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings lost their third consecutive match in the 13th edition of Indian Premier League. In fact, he was visibly struggling. The man in question later said that his team maybe getting too relaxed.

It’s the weather

Dhoni tried to chase down but fell seven runs short as his side was defeated in the third back-to-back match of the season. This is very unlikely for Chennai Super Kings. They are struggling in absence of two veteran players and the players do not look in sync. Dhoni looked unwell while trying to complete the chase on his own. While asked about the same, he said, “I tried to get as much as time as possible. It is quite dry out here. So, the throat gets dry and you start to cough. When you have legal signs, you can take some time off.”

IPL 2020: Stokes to join Rajasthan Royals soon

Speaking of his side, Dhoni explained, “I was not able to middle a lot of deliveries. Was trying to hit it too hard. When the wicket is slightly at the slower side, it is better to time it. Looking at outfield it was subconsciously coming to us to hit the ball hard.”

Dhoni’s observations

Even after making three changes to the side, Dhoni was not able to save them in the last encounter. “Long time back once we lost three in a row. We need to get a lot of things right. It is the professionalism. We need to take our catches not bowl no-balls. Those are the controllables and may be we are getting too relaxed,” Dhoni opined.
He continued, “We have been a bit too relaxed at times. After the 16th over, we had two good overs but overall we could have been slightly better. Nobody wants to drop catches but at the same at this level, we need to draw a line and say these catches that need to be taken especially when the team hasn’t been doing that outstandingly well.”
