IPL 2020 : Hardik Pandya Set For Comeback, Ready To Play

In all likelihood, the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be back in action with this year’s IPL. After missing out of cricket for months he is all set to make his comeback in Indian Premier League 2020.

Injury saga of Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya who has been out of competitive cricket since September following a back injury is ready to hit the ground. Pandya went to London for surgery on his back in October 2019 and almost recovered from the long-lasting issue. As a result in December, he was named in India A squad for the one-day fixtures in New Zealand. But he was yet to be match fit and hence was pulled out of the squad just before the tour.

Last month, he has seen bowling in the nets to Team India before the Mumbai ODI against Australia and did not look in trouble as such. A lot expected him to be part of Test series in New Zealand as he looked match ready. However, the selectors did not include him in the squad and Pandya went for a check-up with the NCA head physio Ashish Kaushik for a review by spinal surgeon Dr. James Allibone.

Panyda set to make a comeback

Now according to a Mid-Day report, the star of the Indian cricket team will be taking part in the DY Patil T20 tournament later this month. In a Reliance outfit, Hardik Pandya will be desperate to have a strong show after six months of absence from cricket.

As the premier all-rounder of the team, he is expected to be a part of India’s T20 World Cup campaign scheduled to be played in Australia this year. So, the team management would like him to be fully fit before the mega tournament. As the report on Mid-Day suggests, he is also confirmed to make an appearance in Indian Premier League 2020 that will from the 29th of March 2020. For the team and player himself, the IPL will be a good platform to have a glimpse of Pandya which would be helpful to make plans for the T20I Cup.
