The countdown begins for IPL 2020. Franchises are ready with plans in hand to get the most suitable players for the respective teams in the auction to be held on December 19. As always there will be a focus on overseas players, especially ones who are famous names in the global T20 circuit. Let’s have look on top six such cricketers who can grab attention.

Chris Lynn

To everyone’s surprise, Chris Lynn has been released by Kolkata Knight Riders. He can be a prized possession for any franchise as his T20 pedigree is world-famous. Moreover,  he is just coming from the Abu Dhabi T10 where he ended as the top scorer and played some amazing cricket. He is a bit injury prone which can be a matter of concern. But his good numbers in IPL where he has played 41 matches with 10 fifty-plus scores and a strike rate of 140 plus speaks for his mettle.

Aaron Finch

One of the premier T20 batsmen in the world Aaron Finch was not part of IPL 2019 and hence will be in the IPL auction pool on December 19. There is a chance of many franchises focusing on him as one of their primary targets. Finch has the experience of 272 T20 matches and enjoys an impressive strike rate above 140 including seven T20 Hundred and 56 fifties to his name. The record holder of the highest individual scorer in T20 Internationals has the potential to initiate bidding fight among franchises.

Eoin Morgan

The World Cup-winning English skipper captain Eoin Morgan will be a good pick for any franchise who wants to bring stability to the middle order. Morgan, like Finch, has also played 280 T20 matches and is a regular face in various T20 leagues across the globe. So far he has played for four different teams in IPL over the years although last time he was not available for this league. The inclusion of Morgan in the squad also means having an experienced and wise cricket mind on the side that can be utilized well.

Rahkeem Cornwall

Rahkeem Cornwall created a media buzz around him since the beginning of career due to mainly because of his height and weight. Presently he is having a blast in 2019 that saw him doing well in Caribbean Premier League. He made his Test debut against India and bagged a 10-wicket haul against Afghanistan in his first Test on Indian soil. This off-spinner from West Indies also has the ability to play big shots. In 41 T20 matches, he has maintained strike rate above 150 and so no wonder he can be an asset.

Sam Curran

Sam Curran had a good season for King XI Punjab but still has been released by the team. This creates an opportunity for other franchises to opt for the T20 specialist in the IPL 2020 auction scheduled to be held in Kolkata. Curran has played 69 T20 matches so far and can be a vital member for franchises with his bowling and aggressive hitting at the death.

Marcus Stoinis

Marcus Stoinis has represented multiple IPL franchises and the attacking Australian all-rounder Stoinis can add balance to any batting line-up. Stoinis had a good outing in 2019 Big Bash league as an opener. If he gets a regular chance, he can easily provide a decent bowling option which any T20 team would like to explore in case any of regular bowlers has an off day.
