IPL 2020: Ali Khan from KKR Ruled out of League due to Injury

Ali Khan becomes the latest player to be ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League due to injury. He was part of Kolkata Knight Riders and included in the side as a replacement for injured Harry Gurney.

Ali Kha, the pacer from USA who was taken into the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise for this year’s IPL in place of injured Harry Gurney, has been ruled out of the league. as per an official IPL statement, Khan has gotten himself injured and hence will have to miss the season of IPL. “Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders signed up Ali Khan as a replacement for injured Harry Gurney. Khan became the first USA cricketer to be signed up by an IPL franchise. Unfortunately, Khan has since been injured and will miss the rest of the IPL 2020 season,” an official IPL statement said.

The right-arm pacer from Kolkata Knight Riders became the latest in the injury list of IPL 2020. Sunrisers Hyderabad allrounder Mitchell Marsh injured himself during their season opener and was ruled out of the league. West Indies skipper Jason Holder was roped in as replacement for him. Couple of days ago Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their key bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar due to his thigh injury that he has sustained during a match against Chennai Super Kings. Prithvi Raj Yarra will join the side soon as Bhuvi’s replacement.

Ali Khan became the first player from the USA to join an IPL franchise when he was signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders. He was also a part of Caribbean Premier League and took eight wickets in eight matches for Trinbago Knight Riders at an economy of 7.43. Thus, he became a part of the fourth CPL title campaign of Trinbago Knight Rider. The pacer, however has not played any match for the Riders yet in the 13th edition of Indian Premiere League. Currently Kolkata Knight Riders are at 4th place in the IPL 2020 points table and will take on Chennai Super Kings, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni later today.
