Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his official Twitter handle to congratulate the Indian Cricket Team after reaching the finals having won a hard-to-win match against New Zealand in the semi finals. India and New Zealand locked horns against each other at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After having won the toss and opting to bat, India posted a target of 398 runs with New Zealand emerging stronger than ever in the second innings.
The Kiwis went on a flying start with Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell standing stronger with their partnership. Ace bowler Tim Southee took a 3-wicket haul against India, and restricted India within 400 runs. Daryl Mitchell played a brilliant knock smashing 134 runs off 119 deliveries followed by Kane Williamson who hit a 73-ball-69.

Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer played brilliant knocks, and smashed extraordinary centuries. While Virat smashed his 3rd century of the tournament, Shreyas Iyer smashed his ton of the 2023 World Cup.
