Indian Captain Features In Online Concert To Raise Funds For Pandemic

In the wake of the novel coronavirus, a bunch of Indian superstars took part in an online concert to raise funds. The idea was to collect as many as funds possible for India’s fight against the COVID-19 which had been declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization months back.

The COVID-19 already killed over two lakhs people globally. The number of countries has been affected by the same and India is no exception. The numbers of affected cases in India are increasing daily. To combat the same the Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a countrywide lockdown at the end of April for 21 days, then it was extended till May 3 and then it was further extended till May 17 at least. The authorities at the national and state level are constantly monitoring the situation as the health sector and administrative professionals are fighting against the same.

Meanwhile, a lot of Indian superstars from different sectors took part in the initiative by ‘#IForIndia’ and helped to raise funds for the very cause. The donations will go to the India COVID Response Fund set up by GiveIndia.

From sports, there were Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and tennis star Sania Mirza who participated in the online concert. Apart from them, celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, AR Rahman, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Bryan Adams, Gulzar, Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Ranveer Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Sophie Turner, Zoya Akhtar and Vidya Balan were part of the same.
