“I’m so sorry. I have apologized twice already”: Siraj to Lomror

In the IPL 2023 match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a score of seven runs to maintain their winning streak.

Trent Boult shocked the RCB, who were given the opportunity to bat first, by removing Virat Kohli for a first-ball duck and sending Shahbaz Ahmed to the pavilion for 2(4) in his first two overs.

Nevertheless, despite the initial impacts, Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis continued to assault immediately away. The pair combined for 127 runs for the third wicket as RCB attempted to pile up a difficult 189/9 in 20 overs.

RR remained in contention thanks to Sanju Samson’s 15-ball 22, as well as Dhruv Jurel’s late cameo, but the team could only add 182/6 in 20 overs.

Siraj was in the heart of the heated chase, where there were a few rage scenes. The dispute began when Mahipal Lomror’s wayward throw prevented Siraj from completing a run-out at the non-striker’s end.

The RCB teammates quickly put the disagreement behind them, though, as Siraj was shown apologizing to Lomror in a video posted by the team on their social media accounts.

Siraj said

“I am so angry man. Kya naam hain (What’s his name) Mahipal, I’m so sorry. I have apologized twice already. I don’t carry the aggression off the field. It’s all calm down post-match,”

Siraj can be heard saying a well-known song: “Baby calm down” in the video.

“It’s alright Siraj bhai. Bade bade matchon mein aise choti choti baatein hoti rehti hain (Such small things keep happening in such big matches),” Lomror replied.

Mohammed Siraj stated that he is happy to serve as the bowling attack’s leader following RCB’s victory over RR. In reviewing his efforts against Rajasthan and his entire performance, he said:

“I accept any challenge. My role is going well, wickets with the new ball and the ball is coming out of the hand nicely. One ball swung in the first over when it swung into [Yashasvi] Jaiswal, and then I concentrated on my scrambled seam as I trust that.

“There was a bit of reverse and it is not easy to hit sixes off the reverse on a hard length. I’m very happy with the responsibility of leading the attack,” Siraj concluded.
