From being one of the best to the downfall- Pakistan cricket has seen it all. Pakistan team, with all young guns as always are once again ready to give a strong fight. Despite the negative history they are set to embark on the journey of the World Cup. Let’s take a look at the Strengths and Weaknesses of Team Pakistan for the ICC World Cup 2019.

Pakistan Squad:

Sarfaraz Ahmed (c/wk), Asif Ali, Babar Azam, Wahab Riaz, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail, Hasan Ali,  Imad Wasim, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Shoaib Malik

Strength of Team Pakistan

In terms of average, this is the youngest of all the teams in the World Cup. This is certainly one of the biggest plus points. Led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, this squad have a good balance. Fakhar Zaman and Imam-Ul-Haq are at the peak of their forms. They have the ability to turn things on a favour for the team. Apart from these young players, experienced Mohammad Hafeez with his pace bowling, Shoaib Malik with batting is there to guide the team. Babar Azam is one of the most talked about World Cup debutants. His effectiveness will be a key factor. This team has a solid middle order and good pace attack which can be a lethal combination in England. Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim can spin the ball well enough.

Weakness of Team Pakistan

Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz are not in great form. Going by the history they can be effective but their recent forms have been terrible. Muhammad Hasnain hasn’t got much exposure, hence very little experience. The pace attack combination looks very good on paper but the vulnerability can be an issue. Even in the batting line up, Pakistan does not have a key player who can bat through the entire innings. The side lack of power hitters as well. This World Cup will shower runs in every match and so a team needs good solid start followed by steady middle order and hitters at the slog. Pakistan lack of good all-rounder as well.
