The high-voltage clash and the mother of all battles on a cricket field is here. India and Pakistan will go head to head in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford, Manchester on June 16. There cannot be a more anticipated clash than this one as the arch-rivals only meet in multi-nation tournaments nowadays. Read everything you need to know about World Cup 2019 Match 22 India vs Pakistan.
Pakistan has never defeated India in a World Cup clash. Each time, the Men in Blue have had the number of the neighbors. India has defeated Pakistan 6 times in ODI World Cups. Will Pakistan open the account this time? Only time will tell.
India Strength and Weakness
India’s strength lies in the top order. Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are as good a top 3 as any in the world. When they get going, very rarely India loses. However, the middle-order is fragile. Ambati Rayudu was axed from the squad who was slated to bat at No.4 earlier. Vijay Shankar could be a candidate to bat there but he doesn’t have heaps of experience. If the opposition gets the top 3 out early, they would be well and truly into the game.
As far as the bowling is concerned, India’s pace duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah are ever reliable. The spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are also world class. But the weak link could be the fifth bowler. Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav would be trusted to fulfil that duty. They can be put under pressure on non-assisting pitches.

Pakistan Strength and Weakness
The Men in Green always go into an ICC tournament as the dark horses. In the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, not many gave them a chance to go through the distance. But the Sarfaraz Khan-led side did the improbable by reaching the final where they defeated India to clinch the title. Their unpredictability makes them a threat.
However, the same unpredictability also hurts them on occasions. The team can be fragile at times and loses matches from situations where they should win. The experienced lads like Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Sarfaraz will have a big role to play in the team’s fortune in the tournament.
