India, the cricket-crazy nation, is gearing up to host the upcoming ICC Men’s One-Day International World Cup 2023. With matches spread across 13 different venues, the 10-team mega event promises to be an exciting tournament for cricket enthusiasts worldwide. This is the first time that the entire competition will be hosted solely by India, marking a significant moment in the country’s cricketing history.

13 Shortlisted Venues

The tournament is set to commence on the 5th of October and culminate on the 19th of November. The final showdown is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad, in what is touted as the world’s largest cricket stadium. While the ICC is yet to release the final schedule, reports suggest that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already shortlisted potential venues for the event.

As the world eagerly awaits the final schedule, Indian cricket enthusiasts and stakeholders are abuzz with excitement and anticipation. The BCCI has identified the following cities as potential hosts: Nagpur, Bengaluru, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Rajkot, Indore, Bengaluru, and Dharamshala.

While all these locations are more than capable of putting up a great show, only seven of them are expected to witness India’s games during the World Cup. It must be noted that most of these venues are already being used in the IPL with Nagpur, Trivandrum, Rajkot, and Inodre being the only exceptions.
