Virat Kohli speaks on India’s loss against New Zealand in CWC 2019

Virat Kohli hates losing and he has often said this. No wonder the Indian skipper hated to be out of the World Cup 2019 from the semi-final stage. While asked about the match Kohli explained how he was sure of taking Indian through the tough condition.

Kohli talks about the ‘tough phase’

When India lost to New Zealand in the World Cup Final 2019 a million hearts broke. Fans went crazy. Critics started complaining. Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s approach to the game was discussed. The hurt was so deep that Dhoni has not been able to make a further international appearance since then. While all start blaming Dhoni for the loss, Virat Kohli has a completely different take on it.

Indian captain explained how he was certain of contributing that day when the team need him the most. “Do I get affected by failures. Yes, I do. Everyone does. At the end of the day, I know my team would need me. I had the feeling so strong in my heart that I am going to come not out and make India go through that tough phase [in the semi-final]. But then again, maybe that was my ego talking because how can you predict something like that? You can only have a strong feeling or maybe it was a strong desire to do something like that,” Kohli told India Today.

Captain hates losing

Virat Kohli’s aggressive attitude on the filed and the way he gives an impression of winning every time for India whenever he is in the middle makes all believe him. Kohli opined on the same. He said that he likes to give his all when he is out there. He takes it as a privilege and doesn’t like if he fails to deliver.

“I hate losing. I don’t want to walk out and say I could have done this. When I step out on the field, it’s a privilege. When I walk out, I want to have zero energy. We want to leave behind a legacy that future cricketers will say we want to play like that.”
