Virat Kohli while addressing a bund of students on motivation during an online session organized by ‘Unacademy’, revealed how his wife helped him become patient about things in life. Kohli and Anushka dated for four years before getting married in Italy in a private ceremony in the month of December 2017. Since then Indian captain has often mentioned her influence on his life and how she has brought positivity. Even in this interaction, Kohli said, “To be honest the patience bit I have learnt ever since me and Anushka met each other. I was very impatient before.” He further added, “The learnings from one another that we have had, looking at her personality, looking at her composure in situations has really inspired me to fight it out.

He opined, “Even when things are tough you have to swallow your ego and keep being there in adversity, keep fighting your way out and eventually you will find a way. So that’s what I have seen her do and I have learnt from that.”

Speaking about the current global situation due to the COVID-19, Kohli believes that society has become more compassionate in this period and that is a positive part of this crisis. “The one positive out of this crisis that we as a society have become more compassionate. We are showing more gratitude to the frontline workers in this war, be it police personnel, doctors or nurses.”

He also hoped, “I hope it stays this way even after we overcome this crisis. Life is unpredictable. So, do what makes you happy and not get into comparisons all the time. People have a choice now how to come out of this phase. Life is going to be different after this.”
