A hilarious incident occurred during the 2nd ODI between New Zealand and Pakistan. Aleem Dar and Rashid Riaz, the on-field umpires in the second One-Day International between Pakistan and New Zealand, requested that the 30-yard circle’s dimensions be changed in the middle of play. Many people questioned whether such a decision could be made in the middle of the game after seeing the video, which went viral on social media right away. Though the visiting team was 4/0 after the first over, Dar and Riaz were able to correct it.

Visual evidence also suggests that analysts and Pakistani captain Babar Azam were both perplexed. Grant Elliot, a former New Zealand cricketer, added that he had never witnessed anything like this on a cricket pitch. After a short break, the game was resumed with little complaint from the Tom Latham-led team.

Notably, the Pakistan captain decided to field first at Rawalpindi after winning the toss and the opening ODI. When Will Young was dismissed by Haris Rauf for 19 runs in the sixth over of the game, the home team dealt the Kiwis their first defeat. Chad Bowes, 30, appeared impenetrable as he went on to score 51 runs off 51 deliveries.

In the second ODI against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, New Zealand all-arounder Daryl Mitchell hit his third ODI century and second straight tonne.

His genius allowed NZ to post a massive total of 336/5. His 129-run hit included three maximums, eight fours, and eight sixes. Besides Mitchell, Chad Bowes and Tom Latham also performed well.

Daryl Mitchell Purple patch

The 31-year-old has surpassed his previous best score in ODIs, which was 113.

He has now scored 774 runs in 23 games, averaging an amazing 45.53 and striking at a 90.95 percent rate.

In the meantime, he has 314 runs versus Pakistan throughout five games. (2 hundreds) with a 62.80 average.
