During India’s match against Australia, Hardik Pandya faced a potential injury scare in the final over, courtesy of an incident involving wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. In the fourth delivery of the over, Pandya delivered a slower back-of-length ball to Mitchell Starc, who aimed to guide it towards the off side but missed. Pant, positioned behind the stumps, swiftly gathered the ball and attempted a direct hit at the stumps.

Although his throw did not hit the target, the ball hit Pandya’s hands forcefully, causing him visible discomfort. Pandya reacted by shaking his hands in pain and gesturing towards Pant, indicating his displeasure. The incident left captain Rohit Sharma visibly frustrated on the field, as the potential injury to Pandya created tension in the crucial final moments of the match.

India’s Triumph Over Australia:

In the ongoing T20 World Cup, Team India has displayed exceptional form despite an early setback when Virat Kohli departed without scoring. Rohit Sharma spearheaded the charge with a rapid half-century off just 19 balls, eventually compiling a commanding 92 off 41 deliveries. Rishabh Pant provided crucial support with an 87-run partnership alongside Sharma, while contributions from Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja bolstered India’s imposing total of 205-5 in their allotted 20 overs.

Australia, in response, faced an early setback as David Warner fell in the first over. Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh then steadied the innings with a partnership worth 81 runs, during which Marsh scored 37 before his dismissal. Glenn Maxwell added 20 runs, but Head’s aggressive 76 off 43 balls stood out. Despite his efforts, Australia lost wickets in quick succession, managing only 181 runs and suffering a 24-run defeat to India. With that win, India secured their place in the semifinal. Now they are aiming to face South Africa on June 27 in Guyana.
