Hardik Pandya gets Out Hit Wicket in the most Humourous Manner

During the fifth match of Indian Premier League 2020 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi, the way Hardik Pandya got dismissed by Andre Russell surprised all. It was not just funny, it was the weirdest way of getting out.

Bonus wicket for Russell

Hardik Pandya who was adding those extra few runs in the slog got out in the most bizarre way. Pandya basically gave away his wicket for free to Andre Russell in the 19th over of the MI innings. He was looking dangerous with 13-ball 18 to his name including a maximum and two boundaries were hit wicket. He went deep to encounter a yorker from De Russell as he shuffled to the off stump. But he somehow lost the track of the stumps and put the bat down right on the wickets. Not even the KKR camp could realize what exactly happened. Pandya himself was looking clueless. This must be the funniest way of getting dismissed.

Fortunately, Mumbai Indians already reached a decent position with a good score on board by then. Russell should be happy to get that bonus wicket after the initial big ones by the top order batsmen of MI.

MI set a massive target

Earlier in the day Earlier, KKR captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss and sent Mumbai Indians to bat first. Quinton de Kock (1) was too quick to go in the second over but that did not stop Mumbai Indians setting a massive target. Rohit Sharma, their skipper led from the front and shared a 90-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav for the second wicket. Yadav was dismissed for 47 whereas Rohit Sharma added 80 off just 54 balls. The middle-order provided the required support later as Saurabh Tiwary (21), Hardik Pandya (18), and Kieron Pollard (13) all contributed with a bunch of runs and MI set a target of 196.

On the other hand, with bowling figures of 4-1-32-2, Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler Shivam Mavi ended up as their most successful one of the units. Russell and Sunil Narine picked a wicket each.
