Harbhajan Singh believes in Kohli’s captaincy

Virat Kohli’s captaincy has seen many layers. While captaining Indian side has earned his praises, the exact opposite has happened for leading Royal Challengers Bangalore. There have been people throughout who never doubted his captaincy and Harbhajan Singh is the new name in that league.

Bhajji on Virat’s captaincy

Harbhajan Singh termed Virat as the most successful Indian captain. The legend said, “If you see Virat’s (captaincy) record, he has won more number of matches than any other (Indian) captain. There are only a few other names (international captains) who have won more Tests than him. So he must be doing something better than others.”

According to the legendary spinner even though people do not like, he is doing great as Indian captain. “The way he handled pressure in Australia, was remarkable. There were lot of expectations on him not just as a captain but also as a batsman, and he came out like a champion.

Virat Kohli is already the most successful Indian cricket team captain statistically with 29 wins in 49 Tests. On Thursday Virat walked onto the field to lead 50th Test as Indian captain. MS Dhoni (60) is the only one to have led India in more Tests than him.

The veteran off-spinner wished for Kohli and said, “I hope he achieves the milestones, he has set for himself. He wants to be the best captain in the world and in my opinion he is the best.”

On India-SA Series

Regarding India’s Test series at home against the Proteas which India are already leading 1-0, Bhajji seemed confident of India’s win. He clearly said, “It should be 3-0 (series win in favour of India) but will also depend on the surface. Last game at Pune, we saw a rank turner. But keeping surface aside, India should sweep South Africa 3-0.”

In his opinion, South Africa have to everything right to get good results. “ South Africa will have to win the toss, bat well to post something around 450 and then bowl well. But unfortunately, I don’t think South Africa have the bowlers to trouble this Indian batting.
