Guess who Impresses Steve Smith the Most From the Indian Team?

Steve Smith and Virat Kohli are always compared and fans fail to choose the better among these two. While Smith always shared his high regards for the Indian cricket captain, Smith chooses someone else from the Indian team as an impressive batsman.

Smith on KL Rahul

Steve Smith, one of the best contemporary batsmen is always put in a race with Virat Kohli for the best batter’s tag. Now, the Australian right-hander came up to speak on the Indian batsman who he really considers as impressive. Smith was answering questions sent in by his followers on Instagram on Sunday. He was asked to name the Indian player who impressed him the most. Smith replied, “KL Rahul. Very good player!” The Australian mainstay was asked about Mahendra Singh Dhoni as well to which Smith responded in no time by saying, “Legend! Mr Cool”.

Rahul, who has played 36 Tests, 32 ODIs, and 42 T20Is, has grown to become one of the mainstays of the Indian batting line-up. In the absence of Dhoni when Rishabh Pant got injured in the second ODI against Australia last year, KL was given the chance and he never looked back.

Smith on IPL

Smith was also asked about his favourite Ashes knock and he rated the innings of 144 at Birmingham in the first Ashes last year as the best Test knock by him till date. Regarding the Indian Premier League, Smith said that it is his favourite tournament. “Tough to beat the IPL. Playing with and against the best players from around the world.”

India is scheduled to travel to Australian for a full series in December and Smith agreed that it would be awesome and he could not wait anymore for the mega-series. While asked about Rahul Dravid with whom Smith worked in the IPL, he said, “what a lovely gentleman and seriously good player.”
