The Golden Girls of India won the Gold medal in the Women’s cricket event at the Asian Games 2023. This is the first-ever gold for India in cricket at the Asian games. She was the highest scorer of the match. Nilakshi de Silva scored 34 out of 23 with one boundary and one over boundary. The Sri Lankan team collapsed at 97/8 at the end of 20 overs.
In bowling, Titas Sadhu gave a dream start. She took three wickets in two overs. In the end, she finished with a shocking figure of 3/6 in 4 overs. Sri Lanka was 14/3, then a 36-run partnership was built between Perera and Nilakshi de Silva. Rajeshwari Gayakwad picked Hasini Perera at that moment.
