Having won the toss, Australia chose to field first and restricted India at 240. In the second innings, India had rather bitter luck as India’s bowling unit was suffering to get crucial wickets with a bit of fielding errors alone made the match tough for team India.

The whole of India was dreaming about a third World Cup trophy but Australia’s brilliancy shattered every Indian’s hope to get the trophy home. For the team, it didn’t seem too easy to cope with the loss as some of the players, including skipper Rohit Sharma couldn’t hold onto their tears after the hard hit loss. The whole country stands with the Indian Cricket Team in their effort to offer empathy and support, and cherish those extra mile achievements the team has attained throughout the tournament.

A wide number of former Indian cricketers and personalities took to their various social media handles to speak about the fact that team India tried their best they could in the final showdown. How they played each game with utmost dedication and consistency was enough to get our heads up high and that they deserve the world.
One such former cricketer Gautam Gambhir, praised team India for its efforts and dedication through the tournament. “Irrespective of the result, India is still a champion side”, he remarked. No wonder these words are true because since the commencement of the 2023 World Cup, India has come down a big way, winning 10 consecutive matches for the first time in World Cup history.
