Gautam Gambhir Belives Indian Bowlers can ‘Rattle’ the Australian side with Warner and Smith

The upcoming Australia tour will be different for Virat Kohli and his team. According to Gautam Gambhir, the Indian cricket time this time will have to face Steve Smith and David Warner which will make a huge difference.

Virat Kohli needs to fire plus bowlers

The Indian cricket team is scheduled to travel to Australia in November for a four-match Test series. In the previous series Down Under, the Indian cricket team faced Australia without David Warner and Steve Smith. The duo was serving a ban followed by the sandpaper saga. The 2018-19 Test series saw the Indian cricket team sealing a series victory over Australia in Australia for the first time. Although they did not have to face Warner and Smith back then, Virat Kohli’s team has the ability to rattle the Australian side even this time as performer Indian opener Gautam Gambhir.

Explaining his point on Star Sports, Gambhir said, “Because India has got the bowling attack to rattle the Australian batting line-up even with David Warner and Steve Smith, but yeah, it’s going to be a different challenge than what it was last time around.” On the show Cricket Connected, he further added, “So, you would want Virat Kohli to fire plus the bowlers as well because it’s the bowlers that will win you the Test matches.”

Why is this Australia tour different?

The southpaw understands that this time it will be a different challenge for Virat Kohli led Indian cricket team. He also insisted that no matter whether this would be Kohli’s first or second tour, the skipper would be gearing up for the same with the batting superstars back in the opposition.

“Whether it was his (Kohli’s) first tour, whether it was second tour, this time around, obviously, he (Kohli) would be gearing up for it because it’s going to be a different challenge with David Warner and Steve Smith coming back into the Australian Test line-up,” he said.
