Four Unique Records Of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar is arguably the best batsman the history of cricket has ever produced. There is probably no feat that has not been achieved by him in his long-lasting career. Every time he was on the field, he used to break existing records to make new ones. Here we are discussing for unique records that were registered by Sachin Tendulkar.

1. Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, and Jacques Kallis are the top three batsmen in the history of most runs in Tests. Their consistency of these greats is such that these three are also part of an elite group which has success against every opposition. But here is one that they have failed to achieve. These three have never scored a 300+ knock in an innings. Moreover, interestingly Wasim Akram’s highest Test score (257) is better than Sachin (248*), Ponting (257), and Kallis (224).

2. Sachin Tendulkar had scored his first Test half-century on November 24, 1989, which was 59 vs the arch-rival Pakistan. Then his last Test half-century was scored on November 15, 2013, a 74 against West Indies. The difference between these two innings was 23 years and 356 days which means a total of 8757 days. It is the highest difference of a Test batsman’s first and last half-century overcoming Sir Jack Hobbs’ 22 years and 161 days which means 8198 days in total.

3. Sachin Tendulkar was the only second batsman to hit back to back sixes in the first two balls of innings. He did the same against Nathan Lyon for two maximums he faced in the fourth innings of the Chennai Test in February 2013. Before that the West Indian cricketer Ernest Albert Vivian “Foffie” Williams had gone for two sixes, and then two consecutive fours off the first four balls he faced from Jim Laker of England at Bridgetown in January 1948.

4. Sachin was famous for his nervous 90s. There were a number of times when the little master disappointed his fans and got dismissed the 90s. In fact, he is the one to get dismissed the most in the 90s- 17 times in ODIs and 10 times in the longest format. But interestingly he also had the most loving relationship with the 90s in the longest format. He reached six Test centuries with a maximum which is the most by any cricketer in the Test. The first time he had done this in 1994 against the Windies, then the last time this feat was achieved by him against South Africa in 2011.
