Four Overs and Zero Run, Here’s a New Record in Men’s T20 Cricket Ever

In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match between Manipur and Vidarbha, Akshay Karnewar the spinner from Vidarbha became the first bowler to concede zero run in men’s T20 cricket in his four overs.

Karnewar bowled his quota of four overs and conceded not a single run in his spell against Manipur. Vidarbha scored a massive 222 in 20 overs and then went on to win the match by 167 runs. Now they are leading the Plate Group with 16 points, four more than Nagaland, Tripura, and Meghalaya.

Karnewar did not just achieve the incredible feat,he also claimed two major wickets. He took the wickets of S Laiphangbam and Johnson Singh to break the back of Manipur’s batting lineup. He has been a consistent performer for Vidarbha at the domestic front. He is an ambidextrous bowler who primarily is a left-arm spinner and also bowls with his right hand. He has first come to the limelight after bowling with his both hands during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match back in 2016.
