Finn Allen is Set to Sign a Two-Year Deal with Perth Scorchers in the Upcoming BBL Season

Another exciting edition of the Big Bash League is coming up this December. The franchises are all set to build the team ahead of the season starts. Before stepping into the upcoming edition of BBL, Perth Scorchers has made a new edition. New Zealand opener Finn Allen is set to join the Perth Scorchers on a two-year contract.

Finn Allen is Set to Join Perth Scorchers:

New Zealand opener Finn Allen will join the Perth Scorchers on a two-year contract. This decision comes after he chose to decline a national central contract from New Zealand Cricket. His move opens up new franchise opportunities, following a trend where New Zealand players opt for domestic T20 leagues.

Allen was initially included in the New Zealand Cricket contract list announced last month. However, the opportunity with the Scorchers emerged recently. By signing with the Scorchers, Allen has opted out of international duties.

As a result, he will miss the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka, which starts in late December. His focus will now shift entirely to his role with the Perth Scorchers in the domestic T20 league.

Scorchers to Strengthen Their Lineup:

Finn Allen is well known for his T20 excellence. His strike rate is the second highest for any batter with at least 3,000 runs in T20s. Only Andre Russell is standing behind him. Allen has two centuries in T20 Internationals.

Allen will be the third New Zealand player in the Big Bash League this season, following Colin Munro and Tim Seifert. The Perth Scorchers are bringing him in to address their opening batting issues, which were a challenge in the 2023-24 season.

Despite England opener Zak Crawley’s two half-centuries last season, the Scorchers struggled at the top of the order. Allen, with his outstanding T20 record of 3,544 runs in 126 matches, is expected to provide the stability and explosive performance needed to enhance the team’s batting lineup. Depending on him, the franchise is looking to build a strong lineup
