English fast bowler ropped in for Mumbai Indians for the rest of the IPL 2023

According to ESPNCricinfo, Chris Jordan has been signed by the Mumbai Indians as a replacement player. However, it is unclear who he has replaced in the MI squad for IPL 2023. In their previous game, the majority of MI’s players were healthy and available.

IPL 2023 replacement signing Chris Jordan has reportedly joined the Mumbai Indians (MI). The English all-rounder was not purchased at the auction in December of last year, but he is back in the league as a substitute now.

Who does Jordan replace?

It is very unclear yet who has the English fast bowler replaced. The MI team also includes Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs, Tim David, Cameron Green, Duan Jansen, Riley Meredith, and Jason Behrendorff as international players in addition to Jofra Archer. There is no current information regarding any injuries to any foreign athletes.

Jofra Archer was the only MI player for whom an injury was a concern. Even the England pacer recently underwent surgery in Belgium. Before the game against the Rajasthan Royals, MI coach Mark Boucher commented on his injury status as follows:

“Yes, he was. I believe it was a minor surgery. We all know what Jofra can do. He’s been a fantastic bowler for many years now. So, he adds a different dimension to our attack.”

On April 17, 2022, against the Gujarat Titans, Jordan, an English all-rounder, played his final IPL game for the Chennai Super Kings. In that game, he struggled to carry out his strategies as intended and let up 58 runs in 3.5 overs.

Jordan most recently took one wicket in three games of England’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. He had previously played for the Gulf Giants, who had won the International League T20. Watching him play in the IPL will be interesting.
