India has played so many glorious matches at this venue including the historic follow-on test against Australia. India won the first-ever pink ball test against Bangladesh in 2019. Rohit Sharma has scored his highest ODI score of 264 runs at this venue.

The Eden Garden witnessed several big matches over the years. Now the venue is all set to host the World Cup matches. Before the iconic tournament, Eden Gardens got a makeover. From concrete structures to seats repainted. The press box and hospitality boxes got a luxurious makeover. Even the main hall and historic photo gallery also decked up well. A special wall has been made in the memory of former players and umpires. The wall also holds some unforgettable memories of cricket played in the stadium. The Venue is all set to organize some high-voltage fixtures.

Fixture at the venue:

The venue is all set to host the World Cup matches. The ‘Mecca of Indian Cricket’ was renovated and decked up for the biggest cricket festival. This venue is set to hold five matches including the semifinal II. on October 28, Bangladesh will face the Netherlands at this venue. This is Eden’s first World Cup fixture. On October 31, Bangladesh will meet Pakistan over here again. On November 5, India and South Africa will be locking horns in this venue. On November 11, England will face Pakistan. On November 16, the Semi-final II is set to happen here.

All the cricket fans of Kolkata are set to welcome the teams wholeheartedly. But between all those fixtures, they are eagerly waiting for the India vs. South Africa match. The match is scheduled for November 5. That is Virat Kohli’s Birthday. All Kohli fans are ready to cheer him in that match with all their heart out. The craze has been raised on high from now.
