It was another doubleheader day at the Delhi Premier League. As the tournament is going into more depth, the competition has become more tight. On August 29, West Delhi Lions met North Delhi Strikers in the first match. In the other match, East Delhi Riders faced Purani Delhi 6. Both matches witnessed some excellent batting performances. Those brought some notable changes in the most runs list.
North Delhi Strikers Showcased Batting Brilliance:
In the 19th match of the Delhi Premier League, West Delhi Lions locked horns with North Delhi Strikers. While batting in the first innings, West Delhi Lions faced setbacks. They lost their first wicket in the very first over. Ankit Kumar-II was dismissed on 8 runs. Ekansh Dobal added 19 runs. Anmol Sharma remained unbeaten on 32 runs in 11 deliveries. With those batting woes, they scored 87 runs on board.
The target was not hard to achieve. While opening the innings, Vaibhav Kandpal scored 4 runs in 2 balls. Sarthak Ranjan played a knock of 27 runs in 14 balls. Yajas Sharma played a crucial role by playing a knock of 41 runs in 21 balls. They reached the target with one ball remaining and won the match by 7 wickets.
East Delhi Riders’s Incredible Batting Nailed the Game:
In the 20th match, East Delhi Riders faced Purani Delhi 6. The batting performance made the match more interesting. While batting in the first innings, Anuj Rawat and Sujal Singh set the stage on fire. Both openers got their incredible centuries and nailed the game. Rawat remained unbeaten scoring 121 runs in just 66 balls. He smashed 6 boundaries and 11 over-boundaries. Sujal Singh remained unbeaten on 108 runs in 57 balls with 7 boundaries and 9 over boundaries. In 20 overs, they scored 241/0.
DPL 2024: Most Wickets Updated After EDR vs PD 6 Match No. 20
While chasing the huge total, the Purani Delhi 6 bowlers struggled. After Sanat’s dismissal, Arpit Rana played a knock of 27 runs in 28 balls. Keshav Dalal added 10 runs. Vansh Bedi missed his century and was dismissed scoring 96 runs. Arnav Bagga played a quick-fire knock of 28 runs in 14 balls. Shivam Sharma added 15 runs in just 7 deliveries. Despite those efforts, they scored 215 runs in 20 overs. East Delhi Riders won the match by 20 runs.
